DHARAMSHALA:Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay today inaugurated officer’s training for Tibetan Financial Service Company for sixteen participants who have been selected from a pool of candidates. The training is being organised by Social and Resource Development Fund (SARD) of the Department of Finance, Central Tibetan Administration. the training will last for a total of 51 days at the Tibetan Reception Center from 12 December 2016 – 31 January 2017.
In his inaugural remarks, Sikyong said, “This project, being new in nature, everyone should be excited to learn and work with dedication and enthusiasm, even though there are risks in it.”
“This project has been researched for more than two years to its actual implementation. It is on initial stage, which is vital that all of you will be banker after this training. Everyone must make package for right for particular business.” He said. He further explained the evolution and future aims and objective of the project to the participants.
Mr J.K Rajput from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance gave a brief introduction about the organisation and training and wishes good luck to all participants.
Dr Kunchok Tsundue, Planning Commissioner of CTA in his introductory remarks mentioned about the summary of the training, its aims and objective and wished everyone.
Tibetan Financial Service Company is an initiative of SARD, which is a non-bank financial institution (NBFIs) that does not have a full banking license or is not supervised by a national or international banking regulatory agency. NBFIs facilitate bank-related financial services, such as investment, risk pooling, contractual savings, and market brokering. This company aims to alleviate financial literacy in our Tibetan community.
The training was funded by USAID and conducted by Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
