Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to Dharamshala today after a four-day visit to Indian cities Rajgir, Bhopal and Mathura from 17-20 March 2017.
During the visit, His Holiness participated in the inauguration of the International Buddhist Conference at Rajgir, along with Dr Mahesh Sharma, Union minister of Culture, Government of India. The conference was organised by Union Ministry of Culture and the Nav Nalanda Mahavira University based in Nalanda, Bihar.
The Office of the Ministry of Culture tweeted expressing “profound thanks” to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his participation.
On Sunday, His Holiness visited Bhopal at the invitation of the Madhya Pradesh state government to address its MLAs, ministers and bureaucrats on ‘The Art of Happiness’.
“It is a matter of immense pride and good luck that we had an opportunity to listen to divine speech of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I feel blessed,” the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted, following His Holiness’ departure from the city.
The Tibetan spiritual leader was also invited to speak on environment and water conservation at Narmada Seva Yatra. His Holiness was joined by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Education minister Deepak Joshi and other Indian leaders.
Before returning here, His Holiness visited Sri Udasin Karshni Ashram in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where he was received by Swami Karshni Gurusharanandaji Maharaj and many other Hindu priests.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s upcoming schedule includes a talk at the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of The Assam Tribune at the ITA Center for Performing Arts in Guwahati, Assam on 1 April.
From 5-7 April, His Holiness will give teachings on Kamalashila’s The Middling States of Meditation (gomrim barpa) & Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma), confererment of the Rigzin Dongdup Initiation at Yiga Choezin in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
On 10 April, His Holiness will give teachings on Geshe Langri Thangpa’s Eight Verses of Training the Mind (lojong tsikgyema) & Guru Yoga (lama neljor) and confer the Avalokiteshvara Permission (chenresig jenang) at Thupsung Dhargyeling Monastery in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh.
On 11 April, His Holiness will give a teaching and confer a White Tara Long Life Empowerment (drolkar tsewang) in the morning at the Buddha Park in Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh.
On 12 April, His Holiness will give teachings at Thupten Gatsal Ling in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
