Dharamshala: The President of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) Dr Lobsang Sangay left for Prague, Czech Republic where he will be attending the Thank You Czech Republic tomorrow. Dr Sangay’s last visit to the country saw the inauguration of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Tibet, the largest parliamentary group for Tibet in Europe.
During his visit, Dr Sangay will attend the opening ceremony of the 21st annual One World Film Festival on 6 March. He is also scheduled to give the opening speech that will touch on China’s growing international influence and the impacts of Chinese foreign policy on human rights.
At the opening ceremony of the film festival which is the world’s largest human right documentary film festival, Dr Sangay will present the 2019 Homo Homini award, an award given by the Czech human rights organisation People in Need to an individual in recognition of their contribution towards the promotion of Human Rights, democracy and peace initiatives.
The two-day visit will also see meeting with dignitaries and Tibet support groups and interaction with students at universities.
