Tibet, an independent country with a history dating back to 127 B. C., was invaded in 1949-50 by Peoples Republic of China. The invasion and occupation of Tibet was an act of aggression and a clear violation of international law. Today, Tibet is under illegal and represseive Chinese occupation. Tibet lies at the centre of Asia, with an area of 2.5 million square kilometers.
