Essay Competition for Young Tibetans in Australia to Mark the “Year of Compassion”

As part of the Year of Compassion commemorations honoring His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th Birth Anniversary, the Tibet Information Office, Canberra, invites youth Tibetans in Australia to participate in an English Essay Competition.

The competition will be held under two categories.  The first category is for high school students, and the title of the essay is”What Compassion Means to Me: Lessons from His Holiness the Dalai Lama”. Under this group, the participants are expected to share what they’ve learned about compassion from His Holiness the Dalai Lama and how it has influenced their thinking or actions as students.

The second category is for university students and young Tibetans below the age of 35. The title of the essay is “His Holiness at 90: A Life of Compassion, A Message for the Future”. Under this, participants can reflect on His Holiness’s 90-year journey and share the lessons that younger generations can carry forward into the future.

Selected top 3 essays from each category will be awarded a token cash prize and a certificate of appreciation.
