Dharamshala: The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has confirmed that His Holiness has accepted the invitation from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA). His Holiness has been invited as a special guest at IPL match in Dharamsala on 18 April 2010.
Anurag Thakur, President of HPCA and member of Indian Parliament, said that HPCA would host two IPL matches in Dharamsala.
King’s Eleven Punjab, a cricket franchise owned by Bollywood superstar Preity Zinta, would play against Deccan Chargers in a night match on 16 April. On 18 April, King’s XI Punjab would take on Chennai Super Kings in a day match, he said.
He said Dharamsala cricket stadium could accommodate 20,000 spectators. Earlier, the stadium had a capacity of 12,000 persons.
