Bylakuppe: Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Department of Home, CTA inaugurated Tsering Gepheling residential quarters for retired CTA officials yesterday in Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement, on 3 April 2017.
The official ceremony began with recitation of auspicious prayers by monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, followed by ceremonial inauguration of the new quarters by the Home Kalon.
Mr Lhakpa Tsering, Settlement Officer of TDL settlement, Bylakuppe delivered welcome introductory remarks.
Home Kalon addressed the gathering on the background and importance of providing the retired residential quarters. This being the first type of construction material called nano technology prefab and benefits such as temperature control etc. The total of ten apartments were constructed within four months. The apartments are built with proper drainage, main roads, internal powers and 40 fruit tree saplings planted along the boundary.
During the ceremony, Home Kalon presented the apartment keys to the new residents after apartments were distributed on a lottery basis.
Home kalon later presented a memento to the contractor Mr Sidesh of Sujala construction.
Member of Tibetan parliament Mrs Samten Choedon, two settlement officers, vice president and CEO of the settlement cooperative, head of monasteries, school principals and camp leaders attended the inauguration of Tsering Gepheling apartments.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr Gelek Jungney, Settlement Officer of Lugsum Samdupling.
