Canberra: Representative Karma Singey attended the opening day programme of a two-day cultural event, organised by Australia-based Chushi Gangdruk from 29-30 December 2023, in Sydney as the chief guest.
In his address, the Representative spoke about the necessity for Tibetan people to move forward as per the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and maintain unity among the Tibetan community during a critical time in the Tibetan political movement. He stressed the need for collective cooperation in strengthening the foundations of the Central Tibetan Administration until the just Tibetan struggle is resolved. Furthermore, Representative Singey appealed to the youth to shoulder the responsibility of the Tibetan cause in accordance with His Holiness’ constant advice to hope for the best and prepare for the worst as the elder generations are passing away in and outside Tibet.
Also in attendance were the honourable guest Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of Sakya Tharpa Ling, and the special guest President of the Tibetan Association, Ngapa Choezin, both of whom addressed the gathering as well.
The cultural event saw the presentation of traditional dances and display of distinct regional costumes.
