POLICE detained dozens of protesters and clashed with Chinese torch attendants as they struggled to prevent today’s rowdy Canberra torch relay descending into chaos.
At one stage, violence between hundreds of rival protesters threatened to spiral out of control as China supporters pelted their Tibet counterparts with food and plastic bottles outside the Chinese Embassy.
