CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay addresses the Tibetans in Minnesota

CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay being received by the Tibetans of Minnesota.

Minnesota, U.S: CTA President Dr. Lobsang Sangay visited the Tibetan community in Minnesota and addressed the people at the invitation of Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota on 8 September.

More than 200 Tibetans gave President Sangay an elaborate welcome reception. This includes Chithue Tsewang Rigzin (Parliamentarian), President Ngawang Chemi of Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota, Tibetan Liaison Officer Tenzin Tsepak, representatives of the monasteries, and the students of Tibetan Language and Cultural school.

In the afternoon, President addressed more than 400 Tibetans at the Tibetan community hall of Minnesota where he answered queries of the public and clarified their doubts respectively.

A grand gala dinner was organised for President Sangay at Hotel Marriot later that evening which was attended by more than 500 people including former Cabinet Secretary Topgyal Tsering and representatives of the monasteries etc.

On 9 September, President Dr. Lobsang left for Washington for further official engagements. He was given a warm welcome reception by the U.S House of Representatives.
