DHARAMSHALA: Reports coming from Tibet say a monk of Karze monastery in Karze in eastern Tibet has set himself on fire this morning.
Dawa Tsering, a young Tibetan monk, self-immolated at 9:30 am during an annual religious event in Karze. Bystanders heard him shouting long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The other slogans that he raised were not heard due to the ensuing commotion.
He was immediately taken to a hospital, but people fear for the worst as he has been brought back to the monastery. His condition remain unknown.
His parents, Delek and Dontso, lives near the monastery.
