His Holiness the Dalai Lama Arrives in Odisha, Meets CM Naveen Patnaik

ODISHA, Bhubaneshwar: Tibetan Spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama today arrived safely at Bhubaneshwar. The Buddhist leader is on a two-day visit to Odisha.

His Holiness was received by Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik and Minister of Tourism and Culture, Shri Ashok Chandra Panda at the Biju Patnaik Airport.

“Honoured to receive His Holiness the Dalai Lama at my residence today. Discussed many issues of contemporary importance and sought his blessings and guidance for working towards our state’s development and welfare of the people,” CM Patnaik tweeted.

His Holiness was accorded a warm reception at the CM’s residence, Naveen Niwas, where the two had a brief meeting. His Holiness hailed Naveen Patnaik as the longest serving efficient Chief Minister.

According to local reports, the Tibetan spiritual leader was provided Z-plus security cover.

The Nobel Peace Laureate will be conferred with the 10th “KISS Humanitarian Award” in a special function at the Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) on 21 November and will address the students there.
