His Holiness the Dalai Lama Begins Teaching in Nubra

Nubra: Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama began the teaching on Thirty Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas and the Middle Volume of the Stages of Meditation at Gaden Tashi Choeling teaching ground, Disket, Nubra valley, J&K on Tuesday, 11 July 2017.

More than thousand people from different parts of the world gathered at the teaching ground. His Holiness began teaching by introduction to Buddhism, where he further edified public about favoritism towards specific Lama.

His Holiness recounted how a tourist he met several years back, told him that Tibetan Buddhism was more of Lamaism. “Which leads to individualism being more important than actual discourse of Buddhism.” He urged all Buddhists to study Kangyur and Tengyur volume as per one’s capacity.

His Holiness in his initial speech said “I always used to tell we need to be 21st century Buddhist. No one needs to follow blindly on what their master told.”

“Materialistic alone can’t satisfy the need of happiness. Apart from natural calamities, human made problems can be solved by human. I always try to bring that ethic to humanity as Secular ethic.”

“It is scientifically proved that if the people is mentally fit, he will be physically fit too. There are 7 billion people in this world and of that 1 billion are atheist, so in order to bring them to main stream of humanity, the best way is secular ethics.” His Holiness said.

His Holiness informed public about scientific way of introducing basic psychology from kindergarten level now a day.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama met with the students from different schools in the afternoon and had a brief Q&A session.
