NUBRA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama bestowed the long life empowerment to the public on the final day of teachings at Diskit phodrang in Nubra Valley. Prior to the empowerment, His Holiness performed preparatory rituals and then continued with the remaining teachings on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma).

His Holiness narrated the historical background of the greatness of the Nalanda masters and their teachings. His Holiness further talked about suffering and said, “practice of virtuous deeds drive you out of suffering, rather than non-virtuous”.

“We don’t want suffering, but we run after its causes—the disturbing emotions within us. If we really wish happiness for all sentient beings, we must cultivate peace of mind within ourselves and encourage that environment for others,” His Holiness said.
