His Holiness the Dalai Lama leaves for Extended South India Visit

His Holiness the Dalai Lama leaves Dharamshala today for Delhi and South India, 8 December 2016.

DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamshala today for an extended visit to South India from 14 – 27 December 2016.

His Holiness will have a brief engagement in Delhi from 9 – 11 December which includes public talk at Tibetan Festival organised by Tibet House and Men-Tsee-Khang on 9 December at Thyagaraj stadium and tushita talk on Compassion and Secular Ethics at Convention Centre, Ashoka hotel on 11 December.

On 14 December, His Holiness will grace the inauguration of new academic library block at Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Studies in Bengaluru.

From 18 – 20 December, His Holiness will participate in a conference with Tibetan monastic scholars and renowned scientists on ‘Consciousness and origins of life’ at Drepung Loseling Monastery.

His Holiness will attend the celebration of 600th founding anniversary of Drepung Monastery and will present Geshe Lharampa degree award to over 700 monks on 21 December.

The next day His Holiness will preside over the historic Geshema award ceremony and on the same day, His Holiness will attend Golden Jubilee of CST Mundgod.

From 25 – 27 December, the Tibetan spiritual leader will give teaching on Shantideva’s A guide to Bodhisattva’s Way of Life (Chodjug) for Russians at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, New Delhi.
