Influx of Tibetans from Tibet have become Relatively Less But The Situation inside Tibet has not Improved: CTA President at Administrative Training and Welfare Society Centre

Dharamshala: CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay along with Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament were invited to grace the inaugural ceremony of the new training hall (Thoemi hall) an initiation by the Department of Security at Administrative Training and Welfare Society Centre, Khanyara.

The event was attended by Kalons of various CTA departments, Secretaries and Additional Secretaries of the departments, Heads of three Autonomous bodies of CTA and other guests including heads of Academic Section under DoE, Geshes, staffs of Health Division and representatives from various NGOs.

Narrating the conception of the new training hall located at Tibetan Reception Centre, President Dr Lobsang Sangay conveyed the dual nature of the respective Centre which serves both as a training centre as well as shelter for those newly arrived Tibetans from Tibet.

“Since influx of Tibetans from Tibet have become relatively less, the centre had to adjust to a change accordingly. Having said that, it doesn’t signify that the situation inside Tibet has improved as the current situation inside Tibet still continue to be dire and critical” said the President while acknowledging the decline number of Tibetans arriving into exile from Tibet.

Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel highlighted the need and significance of training centre as one that moulds and builds trainees to become capable leaders of tomorrow and therefore commended the initiative taken. He further laid emphasis on the preservation of Tibetan language, religion and culture and thus urged the organisation to facilitate training and workshop to preserve the distinct Identity of Tibet.

Following Speaker’s speech, Security Kalon thanked the presence of CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay, Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and various other guests and offered his kind wishes for the organisation to prosper and achieve its goal.

The event also featured the felicitation conferred by the President to the members and board of directors of Administrative Training and Welfare Society Centre.

Following which, President Dr Lobsang Sangay accompanied by Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and other respective guests took a tour around the premises.
