Kashag issues guidelines to all the Offices of Tibet

Dharamshala: The Kashag (the Cabinet ), of the Central Tibetan Administration issued the following guidelines for implementation by all the Offices of Tibet.

1) Recently many Tibetan and Chinese areas in the Sichuan Province of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) have been hit by earthquake, causing enormous human and property loss. As a way of expressing their solidarity with the quake victims, Tibetans in Tibet have undertaken many relief activities. Since it is very important for the Tibetan exiles, or Tibetans living in the free world, also to join in this effort, we should initiate solidarity actions by organising prayer meetings and raising donations.

As advised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his recent visit to USA, the Tibetan and Chinese nationals there have joined together to raise donations in many areas where Chinese reside. It is important for the Tibetans living in other part of the world also to initiate similar collaborative activities, and explore the possibilities of establishing Sino-Tibetan Friendship Associations through such programmes.

2) In order to express our solidarity with the great natural disaster that befell on China, Tibetans across the world should shun staging demonstrations in front of the Chinese embassies in the respective host countries they live in at least for until about the end of May, this year. And write a letter, or send a message, to the concerned that they are doing so in solidarity with the quake victims.
