Online Crowdfunding for the New Tibet Museum launched

The new Tibet building which houses the new Tibet Museum.

The Capacity Building Desk of Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) is launching a crowdfunding campaign for The New Tibet Museum project. This is the first online crowdfunding initiated by a CTA office. The crowdfunding campaign will be live for 50 days during which anyone around the world can contribute online and be the part of this important journey. We also have some exciting rewards for the donors. The campaign is on Ketto.org, a crowdfunding platform based in India.

The goal of crowdfunding is not just to raise funds for The New Tibet Museum project but also to raise awareness about one of the biggest project undertaken by CTA. Parallel to preserving the cultural heritage, The New Tibet Museum will tell the uncensored story of Tibet to the world and it will be a center of learning for scholars and researchers around the world.

Financial impetus is an imperative for any project of such a size and scope. We have already raised 50% of the total funds and we welcome any level of contribution. In this light, we are releasing a 3-minute fundraising video featuring President Dr Lobsang Sangay, Kaydor Aukatsang, CTA’s Chief Resilience Officer, Dhardon Sharling, Secretary Equivalent, DIIR and Tashi Phuntsok, Director of Tibet Museum, appeal to the public for their contribution.
