The people consisted mostly of Tibetans and foreign devotees who had converged at the Tsuglagkhang courtyard to get a glimpse of His Holiness the Dalai Lama who was walking through the aisle of the courtyard, to attend the 33rd Mind and Life Dialogue that started from today.

Well-wishers and members of the public pressed forward to interact with him as His Holiness walked slowly, waving at the devotees on the way.

As usual, members of the press were eagerly waiting for His Holiness to arrive at the venue with their huge fat high-tech cameras.

Once His Holiness and the first session’s panelists, as well as the audience of more than 200 people, had taken their seats, Session Moderator, Kimberly Schonert-Reichl welcomed them to the 33rd Mind & Life dialogue.

As I was listening to the dialogues relating to science and Buddhism, I thought about my promise of writing an article on Tibetan roadside vendors that I made last week. However, as His Holiness is the co-founder of Mind and Life Institute, I felt it has become one of the most important parts of the Tibetan people in their life in exile. So, I decided to focus on this dialogue today.

Many of us might have heard about it. Some might have even participated in these dialogues. So, I took some shots of these profound discussions taking place this morning through my lens.

From its first meeting in 1987, the dialogue has blossomed into from few participants to a galaxy of them in this 33rd edition.

The last edition of the dialogue was held in Brussels entitled ‘Power & Care’ organised by Mind & Life Europe in September 2016.
