Melbourne: President of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay arrived in Melbourne today on the final leg of his three-city tour during which he will interact with Chinese intellectuals, democracy activists and scholars and meet members of Tibetan community in Melbourne.
The President was received at the Airport by members of the Victorian Tibetan community and Tibet supporters.
On the first day of his visit, President Dr Sangay gave an interview to ABC News. “What you see now is the same Confucius-based nationalist expansionist policy with all the neighbouring countries. So I am here in Australia to remind the rest of the world, including Australia, that what happened to us could happen to you; in some sense, it is happening to you. Be careful,” the President said in his interview with ABC News.
He will meet members of the Victoria Tibetan community and attend a dinner hosted by the community later today.
On 12 August, he will participate in an interactive session with Chinese intellectuals, democracy activists and scholars. In the afternoon of the same day, he will meet with members of Tibetan community at Collingwood town hall before flying back to Delhi.
On 13 August, Dr Sangay will conclude his thee-city tour of Australia and return to India.
