Representative Karma Singey Attends India’s Independence Day Commemoration at Indian High Commission in Australia

Canberra: Representative Karma Singey and Secretary Lhawang Gyalpo from the Tibet Information Office attended a reception hosted by the Indian High Commission in Australia on the evening of 16th August to celebrate the 77th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

The reception event began with the singing of Indian and Australian national anthems, followed by the Indian High Commissioner Manpreet Vohra and Chief Guest DFAT Deputy Secretary Michelle Chan’s addresses to the gathering.

The August gathering was attended by numerous dignitaries including prominent political leaders, members of the Diplomatic Corps, senior government officials, and esteemed community members including the Indian diaspora community.

The evening was made special by a melange of cultural performances including Didgeridoo, kathak and group Panjabi bhangra.
