Tibetan community in exile honoured with Art for Peace Awards 2019

New Delhi: The Tibetan community in exile was bestowed with Art for Peace Awards 2019 for being an exemplary community of harmony, peace and happiness at an event held in Teen Murti Bhavan Hall, New Delhi on 2 February. The event was organized by Art 4 Peace, a non-governmental organization.

Representative Kasur Ngodup Dongchung, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama received the award on behalf of the Tibetan people in exile. Dame Dr. Munni Irone, Founder and CEO, Art for Peace along with other dignitaries presented the award.

Mr. Dongchung in his acceptance speech expressed his heartfelt thank you to the organizers for the award and the recognition Tibetan people had received. He said that it was a proud moment for all Tibetans to be recognized for which our spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama who always emphasises for peace and non violence around the world. He added that Tibetan people are grateful for the recognition.

Earlier at the start of the event, Representative Kasur Dongchung Ngodup read out the message of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to the organizers of the event. In his message, His Holiness appreciated the organizers for their mission towards spreading peace in the world and at the same time, thanked them for bestowing the peace award to Tibetan people.

The event was graced by leaders and diplomats from different countries. Intellectuals and artists from different fields were also present there.

The staff of Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama along with Tibetan people from around Delhi in large number led by Samyeling Tibetan Settlement Officer attended the event as it was a proud moment for all of them.

Art for Peace Awards is an annual award given by Art 4 Peace, a non-governmental organization to promote “World Peace and Love” through arts and artists from around the world.
