Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation calls on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, UP: The Tibetan parliamentary delegation, comprising of parliamentarians Dhondup Tashi and Tsering Youdon, called on Shri Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Hriday Narayan Dikshit, including a host of Ministers and leaders during their five-day Tibet advocacy campaign in Uttar Pradesh from 10 to 14 October.

During the tour, the delegates successfully called on Minister of State with Independent Charge for Transport & Protocol, Govt. of UP Shri Swatandra Dev Singh, Cabinet Minister for Technical Education & Medical Education, Govt. of UP Shri Ashutosh Tandon, three times Mayor of Lucknow and former member of Legislative Council (ex-MLC) Sh. Dauji Gupta, Samaj Wadi Party leader Shri Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Secular Party leader Shri Shiv Pal Yadav,  Vice President, Congress Party Dr T. Tiwari, Secretary Shri Omkar Singh, Lok Dal Party, General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, Bahujan Samaj Party.

They apprised them on the issues of Tibet, highlighting the five-points appeals as listed in the Tibetan parliament’s appeal letter to the Indian parliament and state legislatures. The appeal solicits the government of India, both in the central and the state, including all the different political parties to strive to adopt resolutions on the issues of Tibet in their respective meetings and session as well as to include discussion on the issues of Tibet whenever bilateral meetings are held between India and China.

They especially expressed the gratitude felt by all the Tibetans towards the people and the government of India, in particular, the government and people of Uttar Pradesh by conveying the heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all the Tibetans, for all the support and assistance rendered to them over the past 59 years.

The delegates also invited the dignitaries to visit Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, the seat of Central Tibetan Administration. The dignitaries graciously accepted the invitation.

The respective leaders also thanked the Tibetan parliamentary delegation for their visit and assured them of their continuous support and to render all the needful necessities within their capacity for the Tibetans.

On 10 October, the delegation met with Shri Sanjay Shukla, Convenor of Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch. Tsering Dhondup and K. D. Tamding, leaders of the Tibetan market in the state paid a courtesy call to their representatives and rendered their cooperation in coordinating the advocacy tour.

The delegation also met with local media persons and informed them about the ongoing nationwide Tibet advocacy.
