“No one among the 7 billion human beings alive today wants to suffer. All major religions teach love and tolerance but we focus only on our own interests, and exploit and cheat others without concern, creating problems for ourselves,”His Holiness the Dalai Lama said while addressing students of Vilnius University.

His Holiness addressed an audience of 2000 at the University of Vilnius, Lithuania on “Human Values in Education” on 13 June 2018. The 14th Dalai Lama discussed peace and practising love and kindness; inter-religious harmony; preservation of Tibetan language and culture; praised the rich ancient knowledge and coexistence of India; and the sense of oneness of human beings.

He also praised the host country for their strength in the power of truth by saying, “I think, you, the Baltic states, already experienced that the power of truth is much stronger than the power of the gun. Regarding the Tibetan issue, we also have the power of truth and the Chinese military forces have the power of the gun. In the short run, the power of the gun is much stronger; but in the long run, the power of truth will prevail.”
