13 June 2008: Tawu (Ch: Daofu) County, Karze (Ch: Ganzi) “TAP”, Kham Province (incorporated into the Chinese province of Sichuan) – Two arrested for allegedly participating in and taking pictures of the protest

Tsewang Rigzin from Chishar village in Barzing township, Tawu county, and another unidentified person from Pangna village in Tawu county were arrested by the county Public Security Bureau (PSB) on 13 June for allegedly taking part in, and pictures of, the protest

Markham (Ch: Mangkang) County, Chamdo (Ch: Changdu) Prefecture, Kham Province (incorporated into “TAR”) – Two protests staged at township government office

In June, Gyurmey Wangdak from Guytsok nomad in Ghardo township, Markham county, carried out a peaceful protest at the township government office calling for Tibet’s independence and wishing a long life to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Similarly, Soegyal from the same place shouted slogans at the township government office on 15 May.

They both were arrested after the protests by the concerned Chinese authorities and the PSB and detained at the county detention centre. They were later carried away towards Chamdo. Their present well-being is unknown.
