CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay Arrives in Ladakh

President Dr Lobsang Sangay of the Central Tibetan Administration being welcomed at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport at Leh by members of the Tibetan and Ladakhi community.

Leh, Ladakh: President of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) Dr Lobsang Sangay arrived in Leh, Ladakh today for a five-day program.

President Dr Lobsang Sangay was welcomed at Kushok Bakula airport in Leh by Chief Representative Officer of north zone, Local Justice Commissioner, Chairman and members of  Local Tibetan  Assembly, Mr Sonam Dawa Lonpo, Chief Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council and other executive Councillors along with representatives of Tibetan governmental and non-governmental organisations.

He was invited by the Ladakhi community to celebrate the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 6 July. “It is my blessing to attend His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 82nd birthday along with people of Ladakh,” President Dr Sangay said as he arrived in Ladakh.

President Dr Sangay will be visiting Pang Gong lake for Sangsol on Lhakar (Wednesday) which falls on 5 July, a day ahead of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s official birthday on 6 July.

“From Panggong lake, I will look towards Tibet and pray for our brothers and sister to have freedom in Tibet and His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s return to Tibet soon,” President Dr Sangay said.
