CTA President Leaves Delhi for Cultural Festive of Tibet Event

DHARAMSHALA: The President of the Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay left today to Delhi to attend the Cultural Festival of Tibet event, a part of the year-long Thank You India campaign organised by the Central Tibetan Administration.

The former Chief Minister of New Delhi, Smt Sheila Dixit will preside over the opening ceremony as the chief guest of the three-day cultural festival of Tibet in the nation’s capital city, New Delhi tomorrow.

Apart from the exhibitions, film screening and performances by Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, the festival would also see panel discussion on “India and Tibet: Ancient Ties, Current Bonds” with President Dr Lobsang Sangay, Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, the former Kalon Tripa of the CTA, Dr Kapila Vatsyan, founder and the former academic director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts and Mrs M Sondhi, a philosopher and the founding trustee of Prof ML Sondhi Memorial Trust as the speakers. The session will be moderated by Mr Rajiv Mehrotra, author and the former host of the famous talk show In Conversation.

The official visit also sees meetings with officials and dignitaries in Delhi. Dr Sangay is scheduled to return on 3 April,
