Dalai Lama optimistic about China-Tibet relations

ABC Radio | PM Program MARK COLVIN: Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, addressed the media at a press conference in Sydney.

He says he’s optimistic that tensions between China and Tibet will ease. And he’s calling on his supporters in Tibet not to protest when the Olympic torch arrives there next week.

During the Dalai Lama’s visit to Australia he’ll meet several key ministers and teach thousands of followers about the ‘Stages of Meditation’.

Jayne Margetts reports.
