New Delhi: His Holiness the Dalai Lama has successfully completed his medical treatment and left Sir Ganga Ram hospital in New Delhi this morning at 9 a.m.

“He is absolutely fit to go to back home,” said, Dr Pradeep Chaubey, gastro-surgeon at the hospital.

Coming out of the hospital, His Holiness said: “I am extremely happy with the treatment given and I had a pleasant stay here.”

US hospitals like John Hopkins and many others had offered treatment to His Holiness but he chooses to do the operation here, Chaubey said.

His Holiness received a warm welcome from the staff members and students on his arrival at the Tibetan youth hostel, where he will rest for few days before returning to Dharamshala.
