His Holiness the Dalai Lama Arrives in Lithuania

His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrives on his fourth visit to Lithuania.

VILNIUS: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Lithuania today on a three-day visit. This is His Holiness’ fourth visit to the country.

Honorary Consul of India to Lithuania, Rajinder Kumar Chaudhary and Director, House of Tibet, Vytis Vidunas received His Holiness at the Vilnius airport.

His Holiness’ program in Vilnius will begin tomorrow with a press conference at his hotel which will be attended by all major news outlets in the Baltics, as well as from outside.

His Holiness will then head to the University of Vilnius where he will address the students, faculty, and staff on ‘Human Values in Education’. The event will also be open to public.

Next, he will visit Tibet Square–which was officially opened by the then Mayor of Vilnius, Remigijus Šimašius in June 2017 and bless it with a tree plantation to mark the centennial of Lithuania’s independence. He will also visit the photo exhibition titled ‘Tibet–A Different Reality’, a collection of photographs by the late Lithuanian writer Jurga Ivanauskaite who has written several books on Tibet.

On the morning of 14 June, Members of Lithuanian Parliamentary Tibet Group and Tibet supporters will have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. On the same day, His Holiness will deliver a public talk on ‘The Art of Happiness’ at the Siemens Arena.

The Tibetan spiritual leader will have lunch meetings with the organisers of the visit on 14 June. He will depart Vilnius for Riga on 15 June.
