As His Holiness the Dalai Lama is set to arrive in Doeguling Tibetan Settlement at Mundgod in South India’s Karnataka state on 31 January, preparation is in full swing for his six-day visit.
MUNDGOD: The Settlement Office and other institution, including monasteries, nunneries, non governmental organisations are working together in the preparation.
The settlement is being spruced up as the settlers clean their localities and paint their residential houses located around the arrival route.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will inaugurate and bless the newly-built Rato Monastery on 31 January. He will also address the public and deliver religious discourse from 1 – 6 February.
Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche will also be in the settlement and scheduled to arrive there on 30 January.
Kalon Tripa will address the monastic congregation at Drepung and Gaden, two of the three great monasteries of Tibet. He will address the students and teachers of the Central Schools for Tibetans.
In the afternoon, Kalon Tripa will hold a meeting with staff members of the settlement office and other concerned officials.
Kalon Tripa will take part in the welcome reception for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other related programmes on 31 January.
He will address the public meeting of the settlement on 1 February.
He will leave the settlement on 2 February.
